RCCG Pastor Killed, Seven Church Members Kidnapped In Ogun

In a tragic incident in Ogun State, Nigeria, suspected kidnappers killed a pastor from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and abducted seven church members during a vigil. The horrifying event took place at Abule-Ori in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area during the late hours of Saturday.

According to the State Commander of the So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo, the armed assailants stormed the church premises while the vigil was underway, resulting in the death of a pastor and the abduction of seven churchgoers. However, prompt action by the So-Safe Corps upon receiving a distress call led to the rescue of the kidnapped victims unharmed.

Ganzallo praised the efforts of his officers, particularly the special operation team of the Owode-Egba Zonal Command under ACC Jimoh Rasaki Omoniyi, who swiftly responded to the situation. He revealed that the rescue operation resulted in the death of one of the kidnappers, while several other suspects sustained serious injuries during the exchange of gunfire.

Furthermore, Ganzallo stated that a joint team comprising the police and the So-Safe Corps is actively pursuing the fleeing suspected kidnappers with the intention of apprehending them alive. Their commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice demonstrates the authorities' determination to combat such criminal acts and protect the lives of citizens.

The RCCG community, as well as the broader public, is left in shock and mourning following this heinous act. The loss of a pastor and the traumatic experience endured by the abducted church members highlight the urgent need for enhanced security measures and increased vigilance within the region.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder that the security and safety of religious gatherings should be a top priority for both the government and religious institutions. Collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and community-based organizations, like the So-Safe Corps, are crucial in combating crime and ensuring the well-being of citizens.

As investigations continue and the search for the remaining suspects intensifies, it is hoped that justice will prevail and that the affected community will find solace and healing in the face of this tragedy. The authorities must work tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
