2. Purchase health insurance.

It is advised that before traveling to Africa or any other destination, it is important to make sure you have travel insurance. Even if you're generally healthy, you may never know what can happen when you're in a new place away from home.  Travel health insurance can cover any medical care you may need during your trip, giving you extra peace of mind during your vacation.

3. Choose a destination and plan your route.

You can start by selecting a country or city that is on your wishlist. Also, avoid keeping all your cash in one place.

 5. Pack comfortable clothes.

 Depending on the season and time, it may be hot in Africa, but you should be prepared for temperature changes. If you plan to spend days in the desert, try to take light outwear or a jacket for a cold night. It is also important to note that some African countries may not emphasize skimpy clothes like shorts and tank tops for religious reasons. If you're going outside, it may be a good idea to keep your body covered as it will provide some protection from re-entry.
