HIS BRIDE

Chapter 1

"Mira get ready, your husband will arrive soon…"

I kept running with nowhere in mind. I just need to get away from these people.I had run quite a distance before I decided to settle down on a Bench along the road.

Tears rolled down my face, I clutched my heart in pain. 

"Mom, why did you leave me alone in this cold world?" I kept crying.

I grew up once, in a lovely and happy family. Dad was a businessman and travels around a lot but it didn't stop him from taking care of mom and I ,making time to spend with us. He owns a small investment company and was trying to expand his business, mom on the other hand runs a flower job.

 Everything fell apart in just one night. I was 12 years old when it happened.Mom was pregnant with her second baby. After mom gave birth to me, it seems she couldn't get pregnant again. I remembered the happiness on my dads face on the day my mom announced it .

" Honey, I'm pregnant! She was waving the test result on my fathers face with her charming smile. Mom was a very beautiful woman and petite in nature but gentle,loving and kind. She came from a humble home.

I remembered watching them,when my mom beckoned me to come. Even as a child I witnessed the love between my parents.

" Mira baby ,come here love.."

'Mom why is Dad crying? 

"Mira, your dad isn't crying,that's what we call tears of joy, you're going to be a big sister in love.." My mom gently told me.

I was so.. Happy ,I was going to have someone to play with..

Fresh Tears started flowing again. 

One day mom went into labor and she was taken to the hospital.

 Later that night dad came back so unkempt and with red eyes.

I ran to hug him and asked him about mom and the baby.

 'Dad,where is mom? What of the baby?

" your brother is fine"

'Then why is mom not carrying him Back to the house yet, I want to meet my baby brother ? If only I had known.

My dad's hands dropped from mine and he hugged me ,his body shaking violently and I felt something wet on my shoulder.

Then I knew something was wrong and I had a bad feeling.

Dad? 

I felt pain but I didn't know why then.

"Mira baby I want you to listen to me,your mom went somewhere far but we will meet her someday.." Then he choked ,stood up and left. I couldn't understand.

Just remembering it now ,I couldn't help but let out a heart wrenching scream, pounding my heart.
