 Chapter 3

Dad later got married,he said she will be the one taking care of us from now on.

But that was just the beginning of my hell.

My step mom found every opportunity to hit us and when I complained to dad he said we should listen and obey her. She deprived us of food on occasions and gave me more work than my age could carry. No matter how much I kept telling my dad how our step mom treated us he wouldn't hear of it. He kept saying she was just looking out for us. This kept going on until I couldn't take it any more. I had to pack our bags and leave for my grandma's place.

Grandma took care of us till i graduated and started working, my dad's business suddenly

Suffered a huge set back because of an investment gone wrong. Anyway i didn't think much about it cause he never came looking for us nor called to check up on us,i didn't know what went wrong but he totally changed from the loving father i once knew. 

I kept wondering what went wrong . Why did dad change? Why couldn't he see how his behavior affected us, at a point I came to realize everything changed when he married our step mom.

Then he appeared suddenly and demanded that I get married.

I never accepted it. I argued with him and blatantly told him I won't marry someone I don't know or love, but he said something that made me defenseless and I couldn't help but give up. 

" young lady ,do you think you have a choice in this matter..'? 

 'Yes, I do have a choice, you can't just walk up here after so..many years and demand for me to get married !

 ' Remember ,you abandoned us..! 

" Mira! If you don't do as I say, I am going to take Rexo away from you!

My father threatened to take away my little brother from me, I couldn't have that, I love him. He was all I have and the reason I kept pushing through all these years.
