Why Peeing Immediately After Sex Is Important

There are two openings in the vulva — the vagina and the urethra.

The urethral opening is the hole you pee out of. It is a tiny hole located just below your clitoris. The vaginal opening is right below your urethral opening.

As a woman, during vaginal sex, organisms in your vagina (e.g. E. coli) might find thier way deep into your urethra due to:

1. The thrusting

2. The shorter length of your urethra (5cm) compared to men's (20cm)

So you are more prone to getting urinary tract infections after sex.

Peeing immediately after sex is good for both men and women but particularly helpful for women.

It can help you flush out or at least reduce the number of new organisms introduced into your urethra during sex, thereby preventing you from having urinary tract infections.

If you are a sexually active woman, learn to do these 4 things after sex:

1. Pee immediately

2. Wash up with clean water

3. Change your undies

4. Drink a cup of water

Do them in that order (peeing comes first, even before washing up).

That way, you can significantly reduce your risk of getting urinary tract infections (or UTI) after sex.
